Switzerland Travel Itinerary

Switzerland has always been a dream destination for us, and this trip was nothing short of magical. From soaring over the Alps in a private flight to champagne (tea for Nicky) by the fire after a long day in the snow, every moment felt like something out of a fairytale. Here’s a look at my unforgettable Swiss getaway

Day 1

  • Arrival in St. Moritz – We kicked off our trip with a flight to Zurich, but the real adventure began when Nick planned a private flight over the Swiss Alps. The aerial views were absolutely breathtaking and set the perfect tone for our getaway.
  • Luxury Stay at Kulm Hotel – Upon landing, we were whisked away to the iconic Kulm Hotel. Our room was incredibly spacious, filled with natural light from large windows, and had a balcony overlooking the beautiful mountains.
  • Dinner at Chesa al Parc – After catching up on some much-needed rest, we dined at Chesa al Parc within the hotel. The cozy ambiance and delicious meal made for the perfect, low-key first night in St. Moritz.

Day 2

  • Breakfast at Kulm Hotel – We started the day with a slow morning, enjoying breakfast at the hotel while taking in the incredible mountain views.
  • Shopping in Town – After getting dressed, we set off for some luxury shopping, stopping at Prada, Hermes & Loro Piana. A perfectly brewed coffee in hand made the experience even more enjoyable.
  • Carriage Ride Through the Mountains – The highlight of the afternoon was a charming, one hour carriage ride around the lakes and up the mountains. Bundled up and enjoying the scenery, it was a moment of pure serenity and a must do activity in St. Moritz.
  • Dinner at Chesa Veglia – For dinner, we headed to Chesa Veglia, a well-known spot with an intimate atmosphere and exceptional food. The perfect way to end the day.

Day 3

  • Breakfast in Bed – After a late night working, we opted for breakfast in bed, complete with steaming hot tea.
  • Kulm Hotel Spa – The hotel spa was our next stop, where we indulged in the steam room and sauna before a rejuvenating couple’s massage and wrapped up the experience with a dip in the hot tub pool with the most sensational views. This is another absolute must when in St. Moritz. !
  • Lunch at Langosteria – Post-spa, we headed to Langosteria for caviar, an aperol spritz & a chill but fun atmosphere.
  • Elegant Dinner at Balthazar St. Moritz – For dinner, we dressed up for a fancy night out at Balthazar St. Moritz, where we enjoyed an exquisite menu and a lively yet intimate dinner.

Day 4

  • Lunch with a View – One of the most memorable moments was taking a ski lift and then hiking through the snow to reach Paradiso Mountain Club & Restaurant St. Moritz. The journey was worth it, the views were unreal, and the apres ski (minus the ski) lived up to the hype.
  • Afternoon Tea – Back at the hotel, we took some time to relax and enjoy a cozy tea session before preparing for our journey the following morning.
  • Off to Zermatt in the Glacier Express – With our bags packed, we woke up early to catch a scenic eight hour train ride to Zermatt in the famous Glacier Express which deserves a blog entry of its own.

Day 5

  • Arriving in Zermatt – Arriving by train, we took a charming carriage ride to the iconic Grand Hotel Zermatterhof, where we would be staying for the next leg of our trip.

Day 6

  • Mountain Train Ride – We had planned an exciting train ride up the mountain, but the weather was gloomy so the views were limited, and unfortunately, I started to feel a bit under the weather.
  • Lunch at Restaurant Alphitta – Despite not feeling great, we made it to Restaurant Alphitta for a comforting meal before I decided to rest for the remainder of the day.

Day 7

  • Helicopter Ride – I officially realized I caught a pretty bad cold but that wasn’t going to stop me from adventuring a bit so Nicky asked the concierge about chill activity recommendations and he suggested a helicopter ride around the Matterhorn & adjacent glaciers. It was as magical as it sounded!
  • Dinner at Le Guitan This spot was on the Michelin guide and although I was still sick, I didn’t want Nicky to miss it so I pushed through the pain and I didn’t regret it at all! The food was exceptional and the ambiance was the perfect mix of cozy and romantic.

Day 8

  • Hitting the Slopes – Feeling a little better, we spent the day skiing (at last!) on the picturesque mountains around Zermatt and the views were by far the best I’ve ever skied to.
  • Lunch at Findlerhof – After a long morning on the slopes, we stopped for apres ski/lunch at Findlerhof, a scenic & vibey mountainside restaurant with absolutely delicious food.
  • A Lavish Dinner at Restaurant Zermatt – For dinner, we dined at Restaurant Zermatt,
  • Helicopter Ride Out of Zermatt – We made a last minute decision to book a helicopter ride to the airport and got to see a different side of the mountains surrounding the Matterhorn all the way to the Italian side. Seeing the Swiss & Italian Alps from above was the perfect way to conclude our stay in Zermatt.
