Feathers, sequin, champagne and my favorite women in the entire world. The “Sex And The City” themed night that kicked off my bachelorette weekend will forever be engrained in my mind as one of the most fun nights of my life. I get emotional just thinking about it because I really don’t know how it could’ve been more perfect. But before we get ahead of ourselves let’s start at the beginning.
I chose my hometown of San Juan, Puerto Rico as my bachelorette destination for a couple of reasons: First, we were already having a destination wedding in Cabo, Mexico (where Nicky and I first traveled together), a bridal brunch in Dallas (where we currently live) & a court wedding celebration in Philadelphia (were Nicky is from) so I really wanted to include my hometown as one of the locations for bridal events. Second, I’ve done Miami, Tulum, Austin and Napa before and I might be biased but, to me, there’s no place more beautiful and FUN (our people are expert partiers) than Puerto Rico! So after a couple of group chat polls and lots of Pinterest inspo pics we picked a date that worked for most people and began booking.
The first thing we booked was the hotel. Palacio Provincial of San Juan had been on my Instagram’s “saved” lists since its opening in January of 2021 due to its picturesque Spanish-style design and prime location. The hotel sits in the heart of Old San Juan next to some of the most beautiful historic buildings in all of Puerto Rico and is also a few steps away from some of the best restaurants and night life in the island. You can imagine my excitement when I found out one of my followers/Instagram-made friends told me she worked for the hotel group and had mentioned my name for a potential collaboration.
Palacio Provincial was kind enough to host us from Friday to Sunday. Not only were their premises more beautiful than in the photos, but their staff quite literally treated us like royalty. The Spanish architecture of the hotel extends from the lobby into each one of its rooms and makes every corner picture worthy. The hotel is also home to Consular Restaurant and Bar which is great for happy hour as well as dinner. Last but certainly not least, Palacio Provincial’s infinity-rooftop pool area is THE daytime hangout spot to be at – perfect for sun bathing, sipping on mojitos and taking in the views of the second oldest capital city in the Americas.
To be honest the rest of the weekend is kind of a blur. Thankfully me and my friends took A LOT of pictures and I had the fantastic idea of hiring a photographer for the main event so I’d have more than enough photo-documentation to show y’all what we were up to! I put all of the spots we hit for food & activities, as well as the vendors we used, below. As always feel free to leave any questions you have in the comment section!
